Pool pump repair Dec2023

In this post we show you the repair of a pool pump model Espa Nox75 15M https://www.espa.com/corp-en/recirculation-and-filtration-swimming-pool-pumps/

The customer brought me this pump and told me that he noticed a leak of water in the lower part of it. So I prepared myself for a total pump check up. In this old post you can see a complete pump check up: https://headpumps.com/en/espa-iris-500-to-fix-or-not-to-fix/

When I dismount the hydraulic part of the pump I notice the typical sign of a broken mechanical seal. In the moment that a mechanical seal get damaged you can notice at simple sight a leak from the lower part of the pump, and if you dismount the hydraulic part, you can see this situation:

Ball bearings noise is not bad. So I generally give to the customer the choice: to pay for a complete maintenance (ball bearings and mechanical seal) or replace just the damaged mechanical seal.

Once I complete the repair, I make the water test. A real professional of pump repair knows how important is the water test, in this post you’ll discover why is important to pay more for a water test.

Water test 1

During the water test we can check the head of the pump, the intensity, the flow rate and you can discover additional problems. Like in this case:

The customer just mentioned “a leak from the lower part of the pump” . How could you detect a little crack in the hydraulic part? Just with a water test….

Water test 2

So we had to replace the hydraulic part of the pool pump and repeat the water test:

Thanks to the water test we could discover the hydraulic part crack. Trust in the only pump repair that makes the water test. Trust in Head Pumps.
