Today we are going to analyze the maintenance of a pool pump.
The customer says that the pressure seems low and there is a lot of noise.
We start to disassemble:
Partially clogged turbine. We clean.
Then we move on to shaft and bearings:

With high quality Koyo bearings.
We recommend that at least the front bearing be of high quality and type 2RS.
Normally, along with the bearings, the mechanical seal must be replaced, but if a test is carried out in water, it can be verified if the old mechanical seal is in good condition. Hardly anyone does the water test of the fixed pump…normally all the mechanical parts are replaced and the water pump is returned to the customer.
We at Head Pumps are convinced that a professional repair MUST end with an electrical test and a water test, so after the replacement of the bearings, comes the hydraulic test.
Hydraulic test:
During this test, we check manometric head, intensity and condition of the original mechanical seal. If the mechanical seal is not in good condition, a water leak from the lower part of the hydraulic part is immediately noticeable.
