Koyo ball bearings problem

In this post, I’m talking about a problem I had with Koyo ball bearings.
In Head Pumps we only use high quality materials for the repairs, so when I have to purchase ball bearings I always go to the best, to make a “regola d’arte” repair:

Knowing all the ball bearings brands in the market, I always choose Koyo brand, because I had the lower amount of problem with them (zero problems):
I also use SKF and Timken but in my opinion Koyo was the best.
Koyo is not a very popular brand in the area were I work. I’ve NEVER found a Koyo bearing in a damaged pump, also because generally, when you replace an old damaged ball bearing with a brand new Koyo one, your ball bearings problems are definitely solved…
The fact is that this time this customer brought me a pool pump to repair and warned me about the fact that I repaired that pump few months ago.
Damaged pump analysis
Disassembling the pump I find a terrific situation. It was impossible to make that kind of damage in few months. It looked impossible that someone has already repaired that pump few months ago. Totally impossible that I recently repaired that pump! So I made a video to explain the situation to the customer:

Totally impossible until I saw this:

In this part of world where I live and work, nobody installs Koyo ball bearings, so it appeared to me clear that I’ve repaired that pump.
I couldn’t believe that…for the first time a Koyo ball bearing caused me a problem with a repair!
I take the ball bearing box and I read: “made in Romania” instead of the typical “made in Japan”
So I made a video and I sent it to my friend Bruno https://www.linkedin.com/in/andras-barna-szoke-21076292/, long date pump specialist, living and working in Romania:

Bruno explains to me that Koyo recently took over a Romanian company, to start a Koyo ball bearings production on site,
but that production, was not very good, since he also had problems with the made in Romania bearings. Enough.
The pump was repaired in warranty and from now on, in Head Pumps we are going to buy SKF, Timken or KOYO MADE IN JAPAN ball bearings
