High quality drainage pump

High quality drainage pump

In this post, we are going to talk about an high quality drainage pump.

A High quality drainage pump has to be strong, made with high quality materials and easy to dismount.

Here in the disassembly foto, you can appreciate the strong stainless steel impeller.

The most of the drainage pump on the market, has got an impeller made of plastic material or cast iron or a thin metal material…

I chase a Noryl (fiber glass reinforced plastic) hydraulic part for this installation, because this material is lighter, doesn’t suffer oxidation and can’t be corroded by sandy water.

This particular drainage pump, has got some special technical features that I installed for its special situation:

1 It was impossible to install a control box, so I installed a thermal protector (that can be reset just manually) inside of the upper cover.

2 The pump remains completely out of the water for very long time since it pumps groundwater therefore I had to install a professional air purge in the hydraulic part

When the groundwater starts to submerge the pump, a bubble of air creates in the hydraulic part, so when the float switch starts the pump, no water is flowing out of the manhole and the basement get flooded.

It’s very important to have a purge to keep that air off and avoid this problem.

In this video you can also appreciate the technical details that makes this drainage pump very reliable and basically indestructible:

Here you find a previous post about the same topic. In that post we have fixed a problem with a Saci submersible pump:
