The project
First step planning and project the new heating system:

It’s important to understand if all the conditions of the place are ok, before to buy the heat pump and the materials.
I especially care about the electric part: if existing cable/interrupters are good or we need new bigger ones, if the customer has enough power or he need more…
The importance of details
Also the details are important in this kind of installation: not everybody cares about the anti vibration feet pads but it’s an important detail

A very important detail is the water discharge system:
Many installer don’t care about the water discharge or install the short little pipe they find in the heat pump box. That’s an error because this machine produces a lot of condensation water.
The customer will call you the day after to tell you the machine is in the middle of a puddle. It’s very important to make a good discharge system when you install an heat pump.
Final adjustments
When the installation is finished, you set the temperature and test: https://youtu.be/ZWBsm46vwMk in the video you see the start temperature is 15 degrees and the set point is 27.
It’s a very common misconception that a pool heat pump produces hot water like a domestic boiler, when in fact it simply transfers ambient heat to the pool water through a heat exchanger, raising the temperature gradually. So it’s a slow process to heat your pool water and it’s a very quick process to lose the acquired temperature. For this reason is very recommendable to buy a pool cover.
This customer didn’t want to install a pool cover immediately, but eventually he understood the importance of the pool cover to get to the set temperature and maintain it, to save energy and money, so he bought a cover. I always recommend to cover an heated pool.
