Borehole in Mijas Valtocado

This customer called us to solve a problem with his borehole pump they installed just a year ago.
They’re already having problems: “the switch trips”.
We go on-site to check the situation.
Testing the control box with the Ammeter, we see the Intensity value is high.
We rise the pump and keep it to the workshop.
This is the situation:

At first, we thought that the pump had been installed inside of the well bottom’s materials.
Measuring the borehole:

No. The pump had been installed at a depth of 90mt and the bottom of the borehole is more than 150mt deep, so what’s the reason of that white mud all over the pump? Calcium? Mud?
We make a water analysis

After the analysis, water results potable, but many values are quite high.
The only value we are interested in, is the hardness. Hardness value is quite high because of the high quantity of calcium and magnesium in the water, so that white mud we see all over the pump, can be easily caused by this problem. The value is high, but not dangerous. The water is still “drinkable”, but the hardness of the water may be cause of many problems as far as level probes malfunctioning.
The customer confirms us he used to have problems with the level probes, so we decided to use a special solution:
A control box that stops the pump in case of dry run

Eco Pump by Toscano is a very versatile control box.
We use it and recommend it. We use to adapt this control box to many different kind of pump: borehole pumps, drainage pumps, waste water pumps and, more important thing, we are able to adapt this control box to pumps of every kind of power! The same control box for many kind of installations.
In this particular situation, the Eco Pump control box, allows us to instal just one level probe, so we use to install it, so we can stop the pump for low water level avoiding the dry run (even a few seconds dry run), as long as it is possible. This solution is very useful for the submersible pump and for the borehole, since the level of the water don’t get so much lower than the groundwater level.
We are talking about “special problems” that actually are frequent problems in the boreholes world. I bet that a lot of customers and installers are going to recognize this situation.
Taking a look to the water deposit refilled by our borehole pump, we see a lot of material on the bottom. Probably it’s not only calcium that causes that white mud we saw on the pump. Calcium dissolve itself in the water, so we also have sand or mud infiltrations inside the borehole, ergo we also need another important technical solution:
A very special hydraulic part:

The E4X desert+energy by Caprari is the ideal solution for application with solid and sand contents, up to 450 g/m3.
Eventually, once installed the best 4″ motor in the market and the suitable hydraulic part for a specific situation, we connect the pump to the special control box, we finish the job, we leave a satisfied customer and keep on dreaming peacefully.
